Sunday Times Travel 31 July 2005 - The ‘Brag’ Factor
"You want your own adventure to boast about but you are chicken like me? Lets assume you’re happy not to tell the whole truth. You wouldn’t actually be lying, but you wouldn’t be giving the whole picture!

One thing is certain though, with only the slightest embellishment your mates down the pup will be agog.

What you say in the pub: "Yeah Dave not a bad weekend - cheers. Became a member of the 5G Club in Norway. Flew into Oslo, went down the Lillehammer run – an Olympic course – in a 4 man bobsleigh with the British Team, hit speeds of 80 mph and pulled 5G on the corners. Here's the certificate to prove it. Pint of Abbot, please! "

What really happens...

Close you eyes and hang on for dear life. It’s scary, but you’re unlikely to kill yourself. And you have 2 days to psyche yourself up for it. First you walk the course, then you go down in a big padded box (embarrassing) then 3 times in a bob skeleton and only then the real thing.

In fact the bob skeleton is much scarier - off you go on a glorified tea tray hitting the corners headfirst. It might be slower than the 4 man bob, but you’re on your own. And finally top speed in the bob is 80 mph if all four of you are Olympians. With you in it, they only top 60 mph. Still nothing wrong with a slight
exaggeration! " - Sunday Times Travel Section

BBC Top Gear Programme 2004
"Dear Tony,
I wanted to write and thank you from the whole Top Gear team for all of your help in setting up the Lillehammer shoot. It all came together so well and we are really delighted this end. I remember our very first conversation and your 'anything is possible' attitude really helped to give the idea the momentum it needed to go from paper to production. To be totally honest, I never thought that it would look as spectacular as it did on the day.

I can't thank you enough for all of your hard work in not only training with Richard before the shoot, but also in so efficiently orchestrating the running of the bobsleigh end of the race.

On a personal note thank you for letting me do a few runs down the track.

Everyone is pretty impressed back here in the office although l am not telling them about the initial fear that was probably clear to see on my face.

It was a real pleasure to work with you and to meet you out in Lillehammer and I hope that you are pleased with the final edit which will be broadcast on the 19th December." - Alex Renton BBC Top Gear

Square Mile Magazine 2005 - "Ice Ice Baby"
"Imagine plummeting through a tube of ice at over 60mph while poised on a device closely resembling a tea-tray. Now imagine doing this headfirst, three inches off the ground. You're still not getting dose to the teeth-chattering, brain-crushing, heart-pounding adventure high you experience when riding a bob skeleton.

The man who can make this all happen is Tony Wallington OBE, former Olympic bobsleigh competitor and founder of SYS: The Ultimate Event Company. He believes his company truly provides "something different". And he's not lying. The activities it offers range from the spectacular to the insane. Stretch YourSelf specializes in weekend breaks from its base at the Lillehammer Olympic park in Norway.

The winter Olympic experience peaks with the bob skeleton ride where you can reach up to five Gs on some of the corners: not a task for the faint-hearted. If all the adrenaline becomes too overwhelming, snow-safaris and frozen lakes bring a touch of splendour, wonder and relaxation to an awe-inspiring weekend. "

Stag Party - November 2004
I can safely say that thirteen grown men with experience in various outdoor and extreme pursuits including heliskiing, diving with great-white sharks, bungee-jumping and sky-diving finally met their match trying to tame the Olympic Bobsleigh track in Lillehammer last Saturday morning. I am not sure what we expected but I can assure you it is something none of us will ever forget.

The Norwegian hospitality was fantastic and the beautiful snow-covered countryside was a joy to wake up to (however sore our heads felt from the previous evening's 'entertainment'!)

To put into words what we all experienced would not do it justice but put it this way, a number of the participants were brought close to tears - none of us had ever experienced a more exhilarating, mind-blowing, exciting, exhausting and downright terrifying sport!

On behalf of all the guys, thank you for an unbelievable weekend!
